Volunteer
Volunteering has a meaningful, positive impact on your community. How do you define community? Well at UCF community can be defined in many way, it’s up to the individual student to decide how to make UCF smaller, more accessible, and truly a home away from home. Volunteering is the perfect avenue to discovering something new about you or to develop a new skill set. Volunteering allows us to fully immerse and be a part of the community we live in. Volunteering is also about giving of your time and energy on your own accord. The MSC has an open door policy and we welcome you to become a volunteer for this SGA Agency.

Outside Service Opportunities
Toms Shoes
In 2006, American traveler Blake Mycoskie befriended children in Argentina and found they had no shoes to protect their feet. Wanting to help, he created TOMS, a company that would match every pair of shoes purchased with a pair of new shoes given to a child in need. One for One. Blake returned to Argentina with a group of family, friends and staff later that year with 10,000 pairs of shoes made possible by TOMS customers.
Free Rice
Free Rice is a free online "Dictionary" game where all you have to do is just go to the web page and start learning new words while trying to increase your vocabulary level. For every correct answer to FreeRice's online vocabulary game, the site donates 10 grains of rice to its official humanitarian partner, WFP who in turn donates it to needy families. About 25,000 people, mostly children, die Every Day around the world due to hunger. By simply reminding yourself to play this game once a day you will vastly improve your vocabulary and help feed those who are dying of hunger!.
Water Crisis
Water.org is challenging the traditional approach to assisting people in developing countries. Our goals are to draw attention to the world’s number one health problem, unsafe and inadequate water supplies, and to raise funds to help fight this immense problem – one community at a time. Our mission is to inspire people to act:
- Donors – to provide consistent financial resources with a sense of solidarity for those in need of safe water
- Staff and volunteers – to seek innovative and efficient solutions to meeting the global water supply needs of today and tomorrow
- People in need of safe water – to take the lead in meeting their own needs
